Car Care Privacy Policy

Effective date: July 22, 2026
Last updated: July 22, 2026

Car Care (the “App”) is provided by Jensen (“we,” “us,” or “our”). This policy explains how the App accesses, uses, stores, and processes user data.

1. Privacy Principles

The App uses a local-first design. It does not require account registration or sign-in, and we do not operate a proprietary cloud server for the App. Based on the features and configuration of the current version, we do not upload vehicle information, maintenance records, photos, or OCR content to a developer-operated server. We do not sell or rent user data. The App does not use advertising or developer-operated usage analytics services. Google ML Kit may still collect SDK diagnostics and usage information as described in Section 5.

Data may leave the current device when a user chooses to export or share it, or when Android system backup is enabled. These situations are described below.

2. Data Processed by the App

To provide vehicle maintenance and repair record features, the App processes and stores the following data on the user's device:

This data is entered, captured, or selected by the user. The App does not proactively access contacts, location, text messages, call logs, microphone content, advertising IDs, or lists of other installed apps.

3. How Data Is Used

The App uses the data above only to:

We do not use vehicle information, maintenance records, photos, or OCR content entered by users for advertising, marketing, cross-service tracking, user profiling, or data sales. As described in Section 5, Google uses ML Kit technical metrics for diagnostics, usage analytics, maintenance, and improvement of the SDK.

4. Permissions and Device Features

Notifications

On supported Android versions, the App requests notification permission to display maintenance reminders configured by the user. Users may deny this permission or disable notifications at any time in system settings. Other primary features remain available without notifications.

Camera, Photos, and Documents

The App uses the Android system camera, photo picker, and document picker to access only the content the user chooses to capture or select at that time. The App does not request broad access to all photos or files.

Background Reminders

The App uses Android system scheduling to periodically check reminder conditions on the device. These checks use local data and do not transmit vehicle or maintenance data to a developer-operated server.

5. OCR and Third-Party Components

The App uses Google ML Kit Chinese text recognition for on-device OCR. According to Google's published information, images submitted for recognition, text within those images, and recognition results are processed on the device. ML Kit does not send those inputs or results to Google servers.

However, the ML Kit Android SDK collects or transmits the following technical information to Google:

Google states that this information is used for diagnostics, usage analytics, maintenance, improving ML Kit, and abuse detection. It is encrypted in transit using HTTPS, and ML Kit does not provide it to additional third parties. We do not receive images submitted for recognition, recognized text, or ML Kit data that lets us directly view an individual user's records.

Related policies and information:

Android, Google Play services, the system camera, document picker, backup services, or sharing destinations selected by the user may also process necessary information under their own terms and privacy policies.

6. Data Storage and Security

Vehicle information, maintenance records, settings, photos, and OCR text are stored by default in the App's private storage and local database, protected by the Android application sandbox and device security mechanisms.

The App does not apply additional app-level encryption to the local database or to ZIP/CSV files manually exported by the user. Exported files may contain license plate numbers, photos, repair costs, shop information, and notes. Users should protect these files and share them only with trusted people or services.

No storage method can guarantee absolute security. Users should enable a device screen lock, keep the system updated, and use other available device security measures.

7. Backup, Export, and Sharing

User-Initiated Actions

Users can create ZIP/CSV files, choose where to save them, send backups through Android sharing, or select a backup file to restore. Data is sent to a user-selected location or third-party app only when the user performs one of these actions. Subsequent processing is governed by the privacy policy of that storage location or third-party service, which we cannot access or control.

Android System Backup

The App currently permits Android system backup. Depending on the device version, manufacturer, Google account, and system backup settings, Android may back up some App data to the user's Google Drive, another system backup service, or use it for device-to-device transfer. The operating system or backup service manages this process. We do not receive or access the backup contents. Users can manage or disable this feature in device system backup settings.

8. Data Retention and Deletion

9. Changes to This Policy

If the App later adds network services, accounts, cloud synchronization, analytics, advertising, or otherwise changes its data processing, we will update this policy and the Google Play Data safety disclosure and, when required, provide an in-app notice or obtain consent.
